These are the 5 apps I always install on my WM devices, and without which my phone simply is not complete:
Follow up:
- MagiCall: SMS and call blocking/filtering app.
This is actually the app that I use the least but the times that I have had use for it has been a life saver, which is why I always install it!
It is extremely powerful, you can define any rule you need, and you have plenty of options for how you want to be alerted when a blocking has taken place. It is rock solid and it has not failed me once, and activates so quickly that most of the time the caller won't even hear the ringtone on his/her end. It makes all other call blocking apps look like amateur hobby projects. - PocketBreeze: Today screen calendar.
I am PIM guy, and this app gives me an excellent overview of my schedule from my today screen, with the ability to view, enter and edit appointments. It has color coded time slots and has plenty of options to configure it to you liking on your home screen. - PocketAlarm: Alarm app.
This little known gem is the most flexible alarm app I have come across. The downside is that it is virtually impossible to use without a stylus, so it not ideal if you often set and delete alarms as it is a little fiddly (but that is what you should use a good PIM app for, right?). - SplashID: Password manager.
I want/need to have all my personal data with at all my times, and a good password manager is a must for this. There are plenty of password managers out there but this is the one I use, simply because I already have all my info stored in their format (yes, I did try to import my data to another app and it was a mess). It also has a Desktop companion so that you can easily import/export and manage your personal information on you PC, which is a must for these kind of apps. - PhoneWeaver: Ring profile app for WM Professional.
We all know WM does not have built-in profiles, which is why HTC plugs that [gaping] hole in the platform by including some profiles in their TouchFlow UI. As a result, it is in an essential app if you are serious about using your device as a phone (and you are not one of those people who have complete disregard for their fellow human beings and never changes the profile on their phones, whether it be at the office, in a restaurant or a funeral!).
By the way, I have not received any money for promoting these apps (I wish!).
